Zolinex integrations: what connects, and how

Zolinex works alongside tools you already use: meeting links for live classes, videos from YouTube or Vimeo, and student lists from Excel. Here is exactly what each connection does, and what Zolinex does not connect to.

Invoices and payments

With the Pro and Business plans, you bill course fees in Zolinex and collect the money through your usual channels, such as bank transfer or cash. Zolinex keeps track of what is open and what is paid:

  • Invoices with line items, discounts and tax rates, emailed to the student with a link to a public invoice page and a PDF download.
  • Your bank details (IBAN, BIC) and payment instructions printed on every invoice.
  • Full or partial payments recorded by an administrator, by method: cash, bank transfer, card, check or other.
  • Recurring invoices (weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly) for courses paid in installments, optionally emailed automatically.
  • Automatic reminder emails on the days you choose before or after the due date.

Zolinex does not process payments. Students can't pay an invoice online by card in Zolinex, and there is no connection to a payment provider. If you accept cards, use your own card terminal or payment provider and record the payment on the invoice.

Zolinex invoices are not transmitted to any government e-invoicing system, so ask your tax advisor what your country requires. Which plan includes invoices: pricing.

Video meetings: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Jitsi

Zolinex has no built-in video conferencing. Instead, each course can hold one or more online meeting rooms: a saved link to a meeting you create in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Jitsi or any other meeting tool.

  • Administrators add a room with a name and the meeting link, and optionally the meeting ID, passcode and a short description.
  • The course's teachers and enrolled students see the course's rooms and open the link from the course page. The call itself runs in the meeting tool.

The connection is link-based. Zolinex doesn't sign in to your Zoom, Google or Microsoft account, and it doesn't create meetings, record them or take attendance from them. Teachers take attendance per lesson in Zolinex, and a recording you make in your meeting tool can be uploaded as a video lesson. Practical tips: how to run live online classes.

Video lessons: upload files or link YouTube and Vimeo

Each course can have video lessons that students watch in their portal. For every lesson, you choose the source:

  • Upload an MP4, WebM, MOV or AVI file. It is stored in Zolinex and counts toward your plan's storage.
  • YouTube or Vimeo: paste the video URL, and the video plays in an embedded player.
  • Google Drive or OneDrive: use a shared Google Drive link or the OneDrive embed code.
  • Any other link: students open it in a new tab.

Lessons can carry attached documents such as PDFs or slides, and each student sees which videos they have completed. Teachers and administrators don't see per-student video progress. The number of video lessons per course depends on your plan (10 on the Free plan). Setup guide: the e-learning module.

Student import from Excel and CSV

If your student list lives in a spreadsheet, you don't have to retype it. Administrators import students from an .xlsx, .xls or .csv file:

  • Required columns: first name, last name (or one full-name column) and email address.
  • Optional columns: mobile, gender, birth date, country, address, education background, and the parent or guardian's name, email and phone.
  • Download the template, or keep your own headers: common English, Turkish, German and French column names are recognized.
  • Up to 500 rows per file. You see a preview before importing, and rows that fail, for example duplicates or rows above your plan's student limit, can be downloaded with the reason.

You can send each imported student a welcome email with a link to set a password. Teachers are added one by one. Moving away from spreadsheets? Read from spreadsheets to a management system.

Email: what Zolinex sends for you

Zolinex sends emails through its own mail service, so there is nothing to set up. You can't connect your own mail server or sender domain. These emails go out:

  • Account emails: welcome emails for new users and password-reset links. Users can request a reset themselves on the sign-in page.
  • Invoice emails with a link to the online invoice, including recurring invoices you set to send automatically.
  • Payment reminders on the days you choose before or after the due date.

Day-to-day communication stays inside Zolinex: internal email, direct messages, course channels and in-app notifications. Zolinex does not send newsletters, SMS or WhatsApp messages.

What Zolinex does not connect to

To save you time, here is what Zolinex does not offer:

  • Online card payment of invoices, for example via Stripe.
  • A public API or webhooks for connecting your own software.
  • Single sign-on (SSO), for example with Google, Microsoft or SAML.
  • SCORM or LTI, so e-learning packages from other systems can't be imported.
  • HR, payroll or accounting software integrations, and connections to government e-invoicing systems.
  • Automatic meeting creation, meeting recordings or attendance sync with Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.
  • Calendar export or sync, such as iCal/ICS files, Google Calendar or Outlook.
  • Your own mail server or sender domain, and SMS or WhatsApp sending.

Frequently asked questions

Does Zolinex integrate with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams?

Zolinex works with them through links. You create the meeting in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Jitsi or another tool, then save the link, meeting ID and passcode as a meeting room in the course. Enrolled students open it from their course page. Zolinex does not create or record meetings and does not import attendance from them; teachers take attendance per lesson in Zolinex.

Can students pay their invoices online, for example with Stripe?

No. Zolinex does not process payments and has no connection to Stripe or another payment provider. With the Pro and Business plans, you create and email invoices that show your bank details, send automatic reminders and record full or partial payments by cash, bank transfer, card, check or another method. Students pay you through your usual channels.

How do I import students from Excel or CSV?

In the admin portal, open the student import and upload an .xlsx, .xls or .csv file with up to 500 rows. First name, last name (or a full-name column) and email are required; phone, birth date, address and parent or guardian contacts are optional. A template is available for download. You see a preview first, and failed rows can be downloaded with the reason.

Can I use YouTube or Vimeo videos as lessons?

Yes. When you add a video lesson to a course, paste a YouTube or Vimeo URL and the video plays in an embedded player. You can also upload MP4, WebM, MOV or AVI files, which count toward your plan's storage, or use Google Drive, OneDrive or any other video link. Each student sees their own progress; teachers and administrators don't see per-student video progress.

Does Zolinex have an API, webhooks or calendar sync?

No. Zolinex has no public API, no webhooks and no calendar export or sync with Google Calendar or Outlook. Single sign-on, SCORM, LTI and HR-system integrations are not available either. Everyone works in the Zolinex portals in the browser, and each user has a personal calendar inside the app. If a missing integration is a deal-breaker, contact us and we'll tell you honestly what is possible.
