Zolinex changelog

Notable improvements to Zolinex, newest first. Each entry groups related changes you can see in the admin, teacher and student portals or on the website.

Website and blog in 9 languages

  • Every public page has its own address in each of the 9 languages, for example /tr or /de.
  • 29 in-depth blog articles in all 9 languages, each with a short FAQ, plus search, category tabs and a table of contents.
  • A lighter design for the website, the sign-in and registration pages, and the sidebar in all three portals.
  • The features page and the legal pages are available in all 9 languages.

Courses: lesson plans and one-page attendance

  • A lesson plan for each course (number and length of lessons), with lessons held, lessons remaining and planned versus taught hours.
  • The weekly schedule flags overlapping sessions and warns you when it doesn't match the lesson plan.
  • Attendance on one page: pick the lesson date, mark everyone present with one click and change the exceptions.
  • Enrollments can be marked as dropped, which keeps the grade and attendance history.
  • Teachers and students see today's lesson and the next one on their course cards.
  • Fixed: course sessions in My Calendar could appear one day early.

Students, teachers and sign-in

  • When someone leaves, you can deactivate the account, move it to the trash or anonymize it. Anonymizing a student erases personal data, notes and documents; invoices are kept.
  • Student documents have a category and an optional description that only administrators see. Students can view their own documents; teachers can't.
  • Notes on students and courses: administrators see all of them, teachers only their own, students none.
  • Student import from Excel or CSV with a template, a preview and a file of the rows that failed.
  • Welcome emails with the login name and a link to set a password, and a Forgot password link on the sign-in page.
  • After a password change or an administrator reset, the account's other sessions are signed out.

Invoices: new editor, PDF and reminders

Invoicing was rebuilt from the ground up. It is part of the Pro and Business plans; see pricing.

  • An editor that looks like the final PDF, with your logo, line items, discount and tax.
  • PDFs in English, Turkish, German, French or Spanish, numbered in your own format.
  • Email an invoice or share a public link with PDF download, and see when it was sent, viewed and downloaded.
  • Record full or partial payments. Unpaid invoices turn overdue after the due date, with optional reminder emails.
  • Recurring invoices: weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly.
  • Students see their invoices under My Invoices.

Invoicing rules depend on your country. This is not tax advice; please check with a tax adviser.

Teacher and student portals

  • Teachers open each of their courses with tabs for students, schedule, attendance, homework, exams, videos, documents, chat and meeting links.
  • Teachers get a weekly schedule, a dashboard and a list of their students.
  • Homework with instructions, a due date and a maximum score. Teachers decide whether late submissions are accepted and grade with a score and feedback.
  • Students open each course's schedule, videos, homework, exams and meeting links, and upload homework files online.
  • Students have their own pages for assignments, tests, attendance, videos and certificates.

Online exams, surveys and certificates

  • Placement tests, progress tests, final exams and quizzes.
  • Multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blank, short answer and essay questions, with optional images, audio or video.
  • Settings for time limit, availability window, passing mark, attempts, random order and whether students see their results.
  • Automatic scoring for multiple choice and true/false; teachers grade open answers.
  • Question import from a JSON or CSV file.
  • Course surveys, optionally anonymous, with a summary of the results.
  • Certificates with a QR code and a public verification page.

More in our guide to online exams.

E-learning, video lessons and curriculum

  • Video lessons for each course, uploaded or embedded, with documents attached.
  • Students mark videos as completed and see their own progress.
  • Training sets: reusable e-learning content in topics, with text and video, assigned to courses.
  • A curriculum builder with weeks and topics that you can reuse across courses.

Chat, email, calendar and planning

  • Course chat with a channel per course and direct messages.
  • Internal email and in-app notifications.
  • Meeting links for each course: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Jitsi or any other tool. The call itself runs in that tool.
  • A personal calendar with your own events and your course sessions.
  • Personal notes and planning boards (kanban).
  • A help desk for administrators, with tickets by priority and status.

The foundation: students, courses and attendance

  • Student records with parent or guardian contacts, notes and documents.
  • Courses with a weekly schedule, students, teachers and documents.
  • Enrollments with a status, grade and completion date.
  • Attendance for each lesson: present, late, absent or excused.
  • A trash for deleted students, teachers and courses, with restore.
  • Your school logo, several administrators and a statistics dashboard.
  • The interface in 9 languages, including Arabic from right to left.
